Course Overview

What Are Heavy Letters
in Arabic Tajweed?

Heavy letters (حروف التفخيم) are Arabic letters pronounced with a "full mouth" sound where the tongue rises toward the roof of the mouth. Their opposites are light letters (حروف الترقيق) pronounced with a thin, light sound. Confusing them changes the meaning of Quranic words entirely.

Key Rule: The seven letters خص ضغط قظ are always pronounced heavy. All other letters are always light — except for Lam, Raa, and Alef which have conditions.

Our Heavy Letters course teaches you every rule of Tafkheem and Tarqeeq with live Quranic examples, instant correction, and practical exercises. Every class is one-to-one with a certified Qari who pinpoints your exact errors.

  • Structured learning from Noorani Qaida to advanced Tajweed rules
  • Male & female Qaris available — safe for all ages
  • Flexible schedule — 7 days a week across all time zones
  • Monthly progress reports sent to parents
  • Classes via Zoom or Skype — no software installation needed

Frequently Asked

Common Questions About
Heavy Letters in Arabic

Do I need any prior knowledge to join the Tajweed course?
No prior knowledge is required. Our Tajweed course starts from the absolute basics — Arabic letter recognition and pronunciation. We have students who have never read a single Arabic letter and are now reciting the Quran beautifully within months.
How long does it take to complete the Tajweed course?
It depends on the student's starting level and pace. Beginners typically complete the full course in 12–18 months with consistent 5-day-a-week classes. Those with some prior knowledge can often complete it in 6–10 months. Your teacher will give you a personalised timeline in the first session.
What age is suitable to start learning Tajweed?
Children can start as young as 4–5 years old with our Noorani Qaida programme, which naturally leads into Tajweed. We also have many adult students — it is never too late to learn. Our teachers are experienced in adapting their approach for both children and adults.
How do the online Tajweed classes work technically?
Classes are conducted live, one-to-one via Zoom or Skype. All you need is a stable internet connection and any device — phone, tablet, or laptop. Your Qari interacts with your child in real time, correcting pronunciation instantly, exactly like an in-person lesson.
Can I request a female Tajweed teacher?
Absolutely. We have a full team of qualified female Qaris available for sisters and children who prefer a female teacher. Simply mention your preference when booking your free trial and we will match accordingly at no extra cost.
What if I am not satisfied with the teacher?
We make it easy to switch teachers at any time — no questions asked, no extra charges. Your comfort and your child's progress come first. We will find you a better match within 24 hours of your request.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Yes — every paid plan includes a full 7-day satisfaction guarantee. If you are not completely happy within the first week for any reason, we will issue a complete refund with no questions asked. Your trust matters more than any payment.

Our team is available 7 days a week to answer any questions about Tajweed classes, teachers, scheduling, or fees.
